Community Service Club

Community Service Club welcomes new members!

The first meeting for the 2016-17 school year will be held on September 29. Listen for us during the morning announcements! Check morning announcements often for updated information or see Ms. Frey (room 231), Mrs. Wurster (room 229) or Ms. Angelilo (room 154) at the High School.

Some community volunteer opportunities:

  • Country Kids Food Pantry: volunteers are needed the first and third Wednesday of the month at the yellow house between St. Mary's Church and the Presbyterian Church in Washingtonville.
  • Volunteering at the Country Thrift store, located at 12 Hallock Drive in Washingtonville, is ongoing on Saturdays from 2-4:30!

There are many others both after school and in our region. Please remember to attend our meetings.

Best Buddies

Best Buddies Officers:

Best Buddies is a national organization dedicated to establishing one-on-one friendships with all students in the school setting. The Washingtonville Best Buddies program is in its
second year and lies within the WHS Community Service Club.

Community Service Club students are matched up with a "best buddy". Our mission is to make everyone feel included and active in the school. Together, the new buddies will
participate in planned activities.

Contact one of the officers or Ms. Angelillo for more information!

Country Kids Food Pantry: volunteers are needed the first and third Wednesday of the month at the yellow house between St. Mary's Church and the Presbyterian Church in Washingtonville.

DONATIONS ALWAYS WELCOME!

Coffee House

In April, the Community Service Club joins forces with the Music Department to coordinate an evening of musical performances by WHS students and faculty known as Coffee House. This annual event has become very popular and every year the audience is generous in its donations to a worthy charity selected by the Community Service Club.

If interested in helping, the Community Service Club will be holding organizational meetings in March. Please listen for announcements during homeroom or see either Mrs. Wurster or Ms. Frey for details.
