We are continuing our “Pride, Passions, Purpose” Wizard of the month program.  We are accepting nominations for one senior, one underclassmen and (2) staff members each month who represent the values of WHS.  This can be kindness, effort, talent, volunteerism, etc.  Those selected as Wizard of the Month will receive a T-shirt and lunch with your fellow recipients and Mr. Connolly on the last Wizard Wednesday of the month.  The senior who is chosen will receive a reserved parking spot for the month.  Nomination forms are in the main office.

Just a reminder:  Any senior who has not had their picture taken, or retaken, please stop by the main office today and sign up.  Lifetouch will be here Thursday, October 17th and Friday, October 18th.

Feeling stressed about the college application process?  Stuck or not sure where to begin?  Join Ms. Cooney every Wednesday in October from 3 – 4:30 in Rm. 138 to “Get your APP together”.  All seniors are welcome to attend.

Science Honor Society will have a mandatory meeting on Thursday, October 17th, in Rm. 330 at 2:15, for officer voting.  All members must attend.

Permission slips for the Youth in Government Platform Convention are due Thursday, October 17th.  Pick one up from Ms. Bierling-Powers or print from Google Classroom.

Attention sophomores, class T-shirts can be picked up in Rm. 238 after school.

The Homecoming Dance is Saturday, October 19th.  Tickets are on sale, Tuesday, October 15 through Friday, October 18th, during all lunches.  Tickets are $9 each.

There will be an informational meeting for JV/Varsity Boys Lacrosse on Tuesday, October 22nd at 2:15 in the small café, Rm. 168.

There will be an informational meeting for any boys interested in trying out for the Boys Varsity Swimming and Diving team on Tuesday, October 22nd at 2:15 in the pool.  Please see Coach Frisbie or Coach Wargo if you are unable to attend.

Class of 2023 will be running the concession stand for the Homecoming Dance.  See Class of 2023 Google classroom for details.

Join us for “Beyond the Book,” a club based on your interests.  Tell us your favorite movie.  Share your favorite song.  Come to Rm. 125 on Tuesdays!

There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, October 23rd, for any girls interested in trying out for the JV/Varsity Girls Basketball Team.  The meeting will take place at 2:30 pm in the High School Small Café (168).  Information will be handed out regarding sign-up on Family ID.  If you have any further questions, please stop by the Athletic Office.  Tryouts begin on November 11th.

Attention seniors, the guidance department will be hosting a financial aid night on Thursday October 24 at 7:00 pm in the theater.  A financial aid counselor will be on hand to present and answer any questions you and your family may have.

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (or ASVAB), will be administered on Thursday, October 24th in Rm. 227 from 7:45 till about 10:15 am.  The ASVAB Career Exploration Program is a helpful tool for students to recognize their skills and talents, and match them with possible careers.  Sophomores, juniors and seniors may take this important test.

National English Honor Society meets every other Friday in Rm. 132.  If you would like to join, applications can be found on the podium in Ms. Bac’s room.  Stop by juniors and seniors.  Deadline for your application is October 31st.

Academic World quest will meet on Wednesdays at 3:00 in Rm. 232 until November 6th.  All are welcome to join.

Attention all winter athletes, Family ID for winter registration will open October 11th and close November 7th.  You must have an updated physical on file with the school nurse to be cleared for tryouts.  Any questions please stop by the Athletic Office.

Attention Seniors and Parents:  SUNY will be hosting a Financial Aid Day in November to educate and help families complete the financial aid application process.  Please visit to register.  These are open events to all families no matter where your child is planning to attend college and a great opportunity to gather information from financial aid professionals.

Attention students: the 4th Annual Mid-Hudson Performing Arts College Fair will be on Sunday, November 10th from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm at Arlington High School, State Route 55, LaGrangeville, NY.  Please visit for more information.

Applications for the Washingtonville Math Honor Society are now available in Rm. 322.  Applications will be accepted thru November 22nd.  See Mr. Brown with any questions.

Physicals will be available every Friday, for all sports, 9 & 11th grade, and working papers.  Get your winter sports physical done early.  Come in and see when your physical expires, and if you need a physical, sign up in the healthier office.  First come first served.
