Little Britain Elementary School Installs a Sensory Hallway
Washingtonville Central School District
Thursday, May 16, 2019

Little Britain Elementary School recently installed a Sensory Hallway for all students. This stimulating hallway includes a course of exercises and obstacles such as jumping jacks, squats, and wall push-ups that are denoted by various symbols that the kids learn. The idea is to help students to focus and allow them to release their energy in a productive way. The hallway is used at the teachers' discretion. Some use the space after lunch or send a specific student down when they feel they need it, while others use it as a whole class experience. The students are loving the installation and due to popular demand, the plan is to have two more installed by September.
