Washingtonville Middle School students study material from the Life Sciences and the Physical Sciences. The approach is an integrated one that seeks to show students how the natural laws of science apply across the curricular areas. Students accepted to our accelerated program begin their study of high school science in the 8th grade with the Regents course in Living Environment: Biology.
The Washingtonville High School Science Department offers classes in all four Regents subjects (Living Environment: Biology, Physical Setting: Earth Science, Chemistry, and Physics) as well as electives in Environmental Chemistry and Marine Biology/Oceanography. In addition, the high school offers college level courses in Chemistry, Physics and Forensic Science as well as Advanced Placement courses in Biology and Environmental Science.
