Odyssey of the Mind Teams Recognized at April's BOE Business Meeting

Our phenomenal students from each school were recognized by our Board of Education at a business meeting on April 20th.  Each participate received a recognition of achievement certificate.  Odyssey of the Mind is an international creative problem-solving program that engages students in their learning by allowing their knowledge and ideas to come to life in an exciting, productive environment.  Participants build self-confidence, develop life skills, create new friendships and are able to recognize and explore their true potential.

The Little Britain PTA will be hosting a "Meet the Candidates" night on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 7:00 pm. for our upcoming Board of Education election.  There are 2 BOE seats up for election this year.  The public is welcome and encouraged to attend this event.

Hair "Cut-A-Thon" On Monday, April 24, 2017 from 2:30-5pm at WHS

On Monday, April 24th from 2:30pm-5:00pm a hair "Cut-A-Thon" will be held in the High School small cafeteria.  Proceeds will benefit the Hudson Valley Cancer Resource Center.  A minimum donation of $12 for haircuts (a barber will be available) & $7 for manicures is requested.

MS Spelling Bee & National History Bee Winners

The Washingtonville BOE recognized the Middle School Spelling Bee and National History Bee winners last night by presenting the winners with certificates.  The MS Spelling Bee winner is Mark Whelan.  The National History winners are Hailey Faurot, Anthony Molinaro, Isabella Blauvelt-Mercado and Michael Libassi.  Congratulations to all the winners!

Museum of Natural History 7th Grade Trip POSTPONED to May 8

The 7th grade trip to the Museum of Natural History that was scheduled for Wednesday, March 15, has been postponed to May 8. Students that have already handed in their permission slips do not need to hand in a new one. Any 7th grade student that was unable to attend on the original date but would like to go on May 8 may turn in a permission slip and payment no later than March 28. The Washingtonville Varsity Boys basketball team participated in the 3rd Annual Slam Dunk Heart Disease Games played on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Mount Saint Mary College.  Washingtonville defeated Monticello by the score of 45 to 39.
