Greetings Current 6 th Grade Students and Parents/Guardians,

All current 6th grade students will be participating in the Middle School Foreign Language program starting next year. 7th graders take an introductory foreign language course one period a day for the entire school year. The course will prepare students to take the high school level foreign language class in 8th grade. Students can earn one high school credit with successful completion of the 8th grade foreign language course.

As we approach the end of the school year, we are diligently preparing our schedule and course offerings in anticipation for the 2013-2014 school year. We have developed a new procedure for current 6 th grade students to make the selection for their foreign language class options. We ask that you view the following steps and assist your child to make the foreign language selection that is best for them. Please know that students who receive additional academic services may not be able to take a foreign language in their 7 th grade year. The foreign language selection will be made on an online form through the WCSD website and submitted to the Middle School Guidance Office to be recorded.   1. Access the WCSD website at www.ws.k12.ny.us
  2. From the main page...find the SCHOOLS tab and select MIDDLE SCHOOL
  3. On the left side of the page...click the tab for GUIDANCE OFFICE
  4. On the left side of the page...click the tab for 6 th Grade Foreign Language Selection
  5. Students will complete the sections identifying name and student ID number
  6. Students will make the foreign language selection that is best for them and then click SUBMIT

We ask that students and parents select and submit their foreign language  class choice by no later than March 29th, 2013.

As we approach the end of the school year, we are diligently preparing our schedule and course offerings in anticipation for the 2013-2014 school year. Students and parents can read through the descriptions for the specific grade level music class offerings. Contact information is listed for guidance counselors should students or parents have any specific questions regarding the music course options. We have developed a new procedure for Middle School students to make the selection for their music class options. We ask that you view the following steps and assist your child to make the music selection that is best for them. The choice will be made on an online form through the WCSD website and submitted to the Middle School Guidance Office to be recorded. We have developed a new procedure for 5th graders to make the selection for their 6th grade music class. We ask that you view the following steps and assist your child to make the music selection that is best for them. The choice will be made on an online form through the WCSD website and submitted to the Middle School Guidance Office to be recorded.
