Dear Parents/Guardians of 8th Grade Students, 

Under documents you will find information for our 8th Grade Recognition Ceremony to be held on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 9:00 am.
Procedures for an outside ceremony and an inside ceremony (weather pending) as well as parking information are outlined.
Please feel free to contact the Middle School Main Office with any questions.

Dear 8th Grade Parents and/or Guardians:

During the months of May & June, there will be many activities focusing on the 8th grade students.  All of the dates and times have been listed below. 

n  May 1 – Parents meeting to discuss all upcoming 8th grade events.

7:00 pm in Cafeteria B

n  May 17 – 8th Grade Panoramic Picture.  

n  May 30 – Principal’s 8th Grade 3x Honor Roll Breakfast 7:30 am.

  Letters will be sent to all students who will be participating

  in this event.

n  June 14 - PTO-Sponsored 8th Grade Dance – 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm. 

  n  June 20 – 8th Grade Recognition Ceremony – 9:00 am

  Middle School Field

n  June 21 –8th Grade Class Trip to Lake Compounce. 

These activities are sponsored by the Washingtonville Middle School PTO.

We work closely with the Administration of the Middle School to ensure all school policies and guidelines are adhered to.

PTO-Sponsored 8th Grade Dance

June 14, 2013 7:00 - 9:30 pm

The 8th Grade dance will be on Friday, June 14, 2013, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. 

The PTO volunteers have been working hard to prepare for this event. 

n   The cost of the dance is $10.00.  As usual, the dance tickets will be sold in the student’s homeroom on the day of the dance.  Please send cash or a check made out to WMSPTO Inc.

n   School Dress Code Applies.

n   Students can dress formally or casually.

n   Bring your school ID with you.

n   Since this is a “special” evening for the 8th graders, the gymnasium will be decorated for the event.  Anyone who would like to help with the dance please contact the 8th Grade Dance Chairperson,  Stacy Sorensen at 496-6965 or stacysorensen@hvc.rr.com

8th Grade Trip to Lake Compounce

 

The Washingtonville Middle School PTO will be planning our annual 8th Grade Trip to Lake Compounce on June 21st.

June 21st is also the date of our High School Graduation.

 

The students will be traveling to Lake Compounce on coach buses from West Point/Trailways. They will be leaving the school to the park at 8:00 am and leaving the park to come home at 7:00 pm.

We have worked with our principal, Ms. Thompson and our superintendent, Ms. Greene to arrange early transportation back to Washingtonville for those students that will be attending the Washingtonville High School Graduation ceremony.

Those students that will be taking the early bus home will ride to Lake Compounce on the coach buses departing the Middle School at 8:00 am. These students will be departing Lake Compounce at 3:00 pm on a school bus provided by the school district.

The students leaving early should know that they will want to rent a locker to keep their personal items in because they will not be able to return to their original bus. The cost of those lockers are $7.00 for the small and $10.00 for the larger ones. All lockers require a $5.00 deposit that will be returned when the key is returned. 

Parent/ Guardian Chaperones must be a member of the PTO.
