The budding engineers in Room 106 have enjoyed various S.T.E.M. challenges. S.T.E.M. is the acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The children have enjoyed exploring S.T.E.M. bins where they use different materials to make specific things. For the weekly challenges, the students create their own groups and are presented with an open ended problem. First they independently brainstorm, next they are given materials to solve the problem, then they have opportunities to share and finally reflect. The children easily jump into the activities, work together, share ideas, think critically, ask questions, observe and explore while truly actively engaged in these experiential learning activities. See for yourself creativity at its best and the joy that S.T.E.M. has brought to our class!
