After lunch in the park the group strolled down 5th Avenue and then spent 3 wonderful hours exploring the Museum of Modern Art. NAHS CRAFT SALES: Students from the National Art Honor Society have been busy making handcrafted ceramic jewelry and holiday ornaments this fall semester. On Saturday 12/2 these students showcased their crafts at Washingtonville's "Christmas in the Village" holiday vendor sale. This first sale was a success as they sold close to half their inventory. It was the first of many opportunities for these talented art students to sell their work. High School staff, faculty and students were able to purchase these items at the High School's Holiday Craft Sale during all lunches the week of December 18th. N.A.H.S. students plan to make more ceramic jewelry to sell at our annual Empty Bowls WHS fundraiser, scheduled for Saturday, April 28, 2018. The money raised from these sales will go towards art-related field trips and experiences for all National Art Honor Society Students. NAHS & EMPTY BOWLS WHS GLAZE YOUR OWN BOWL/MUG FUNDRAISER 2018: Our 1st Annual Glaze Your Own Bowl/Mug Fundraiser was a huge success. We had over 80 participants from the community and over 20 NAHS volunteers, as well as parents and WHS faculty volunteers. We sold over 100 bowls and mugs, many of which were donated to be sold at our Empty Bowls WHS Dessert Social on 4/28/18. Fifty percent of the funds raised will help support educational experiences for our NAHS students. The other 50% will be donated to Empty Bowls WHS (to the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley and the Country Kids Food Pantry). Special thanks to all our volunteers and refreshment donors. Thanks to the community for coming out on a cold winter day and making this event a huge success. For photographs of this event: NAHS & Empty Bowls WHS Glaze Your Own Bowl/Mug Fundraiser 2018
