The Living Environment (Biology) is the study of living things. By studying this topic, we become more informed when making decisions regarding ourselves, other organisms, and the environment. The Living Environment stresses scientific inquiry, not the memorization and recall of facts. Based on this, we will focus on the understanding of relationships, processes, and the application of concepts. Explanation, analysis, critical thinking, and interpretation play a role in this course.

Much of the content in this course is challenging, detailed and often difficult to visualize. To add to this, you will encounter a whole new vocabulary to accompany some of these very abstract concepts. It should be emphasized that is it your responsibility to keep up with all assignments, learn the required material, and ask for help when you need it. I will do as much as I can to ensure that everyone in this class is successful but you need to do your part as well.
