Reading -We are continuing to work in Guided Reading groups with novels, short articles, and nonfiction texts. We continue to discuss character traits, setting, mood, vocabulary skills, main idea, and the featurs of nonfiction and fiction texts.
Writing-We are in the process of wrapping up our"Narrative" writing unit. Students are putting the finishing touches on their stories. We are having mini-lesson each day. We are looking to finish our final drafts of our stories this week.
Spelling-Keep working on those "High Frequency Words"! We have moved onto patterns for our weekly assessments.
No Quiz for the short week of 11/20
Math- Students are working and building fluency and solving multi-digit multiplication problems using various strategies. We will continue to reveiw and focus on word problems in class.
Social Studies-We are just starting to examine the Iroquois and Algonquin. Students will be reading from a nonfiction book and working in groups to examine how the Native Americans depended upon their environment for survival.
Native American Vocabulary Quiz 11-21
Science- Students have been looking at Weathering, Erosion, and Deposition. They are completing activities and experiments related to these concepts.
